Computer Network and Network Design is a course which offers a detailed understanding of the principles and technologies core computer networks. Course begins by studying the functionalities of each layer in networking models like OSI and TCP/IP, enabling students to compare and understand their roles in ensuring reliable communication. Along with it you will get knowledge of various types of transmission media, examining their characteristics and design considerations, essential data link layer protocols and concepts. The course also focuses on analyzing routing protocols, enabling students to configure IP addresses and develop efficient network designs for different scenarios.
Further, the course addresses data transportation and session management challenges, emphasizing protocols that facilitate end-to-end data delivery. Students will study techniques for data presentation and understand the implementation of the client-server model in application layer protocols like HTTP and FTP. By integrating these concepts, students will gain practical skills to design and implement networks personalised to organizational needs, leveraging IP addressing, routing strategies, and application services effectively. This course equips students with the technical expertise how to build and manage robust and scalable network solutions. This course provides a strong theoretical foundation for exploring advanced and future-oriented networking solutions in the industry.
